Repairability depends on the damage zone
Small tread punctures may be repairable when the internal structure has not been damaged. Sidewall, shoulder, bead and large or repeated injuries generally require a different solution.
Slow leaks require more than adding air
Valve cores, valve stems, bead seating, corrosion and bent wheels can create pressure loss without an obvious puncture. The leak source is identified before the tyre is returned to service.
Checks after the intervention
Pressure is set to the vehicle requirement, leakage is rechecked and wheel fasteners are reviewed. The driver is told when a workshop inspection or tyre replacement remains necessary.
